Setsuko Yanagisawa

Born in Japan, Setsuko studied floral design in Denmark, France and Japan before establishing her own company, Yuga floral Design in Sydney. Her practise expresses a contemporary marriage between the exquisitely refined traditions of Japanese floral art and the vibrant textures and colours of Australia. Setsuko has exhibited The Art of Flowers- Japanese Four Seasons, Government House in Sydney, 2006, Encounters through Flowers Hana (Flower) installation at Customs House, October 2008, Appreciation of Imperfect Beauty at the Japan Foundation, Sydney, October 2009 and Ikebana arrangement for the opening night of Kamisaka Sekka for the Art Gallery of New South Wales, June 2012.
