Screen Shot 2014-10-15 at 10.51.32 am Ann Shoebridge is one of Australia’s leading milliners, renowned for bringing sculpture, colour and light to her collections. Drawing inspiration from art, film, music and nature, Ann’s collections pay homage to traditional hat design whilst linking with the temperature of the times in which we live. Original design and playfulness are at the heart of each avant-garde piece. With a knowledge of and deep love for contemporary art, Ann completed an Honours degree in Fine Art, before studying millinery at Swinburne University of Technology, Victoria to hone her craft. Launching her first collection in 2003, Ann’s designs quickly achieved widespread acclaim, retailing first through leading accessories boutique Christine in Melbourne, before gaining a loyal following Australia-wide. In 2013 Ann’s designs were acquired for the permanent collection of Australian Fashion & Textiles at the National Gallery of Victoria and she was personally selected by iconic UK milliner Stephen Jones as the only Australian finalist for The HAT Designer of the year, awarded at ‘Who’s Next’ Premiere Classe, Paris.
