‘The view from elsewhere’ reflects on contemporary video art and cinem practice across Asia and the Middle East.
At a time when artists are returning to performance-based video works using simple digital cameras, digital technology is enablig filmmakers to make works less constrained by production values and processes. The work of these artsts and filmmakers demonstrates the plurality of approcahes in contemporary visual culture and the productive possibilities of a ‘view from elsewhere’.
