Maker Machine is a mobile education unit which utilises creativity, future technology, and team work through interactive children’s workshops. Kids are shown cutting-edge tools such as 3D printers and robotics and participate in hands-on problem-solving activities which see their robotic creatures come to life.
Maker Machine recently completed a residency at the National Gallery of Victoria where they constructed a life size humanoid robot as part of Melbourne Now festival. Jethro and Sam are currently travelling to schools across the country as part of a nation-wide Australian tour.
Jethro Pugh is a freelance Industrial Designer and self-confessed computer nerd. Jethro has worked on projects including driverless cars, air powered motor cycles, and rapid prototyping machines. He has a Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design (Hons) from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Sam Nikolsky has a passion for combining emerging technology with fine art. His background ranges from working on warships in the Royal Australian Navy to making 3D printers to running art workshops in local Australian communities. Sam has a Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design (Hons) from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
*Please note that due to high demand these workshop places are non-transferable. Refunds will be given if cancellations are made 48 hours before the event. Cancellations made thereafter are not refundable.
All children must be accompanied by a supervising parent or guardian.
