Reverse Garbage is committed to diverting resources from landfill and each year accepts approximately 35,000 cubic metres or 100 football fields of items which may otherwise end up as landfill. Established in 1974, Reverse Garbage is an internationally recognised, award-winning environmental co-operative committed to promoting sustainability through the reuse of resources available at its Marrickville warehouse, as well as providing support to other community, creative and educational organisations.

Fiona Arnold is an assemblage artist, sculptor and educator, who has been working with the medium of found objects for over 20 years, both as a successful exhibiting artist and an educator.  Believing strongly in reuse, Fiona works with found and given items and her sculpture reflects her belief in giving all things a second chance.

Most recently she was Leichhardt Council’s Artist of the Month (October 2015), during which time Fiona created The People’s Garden, a sea of flowers made from plastic bottles, that covered the lawn in front of the Leichhardt Town Hall. Fiona thrives on working with children and the community, and recent projects have found her sharing her energy and vision with diverse groups including recent migrants, the disadvantaged and people with a disability as a method of engaging the whole community.

Fiona’s current passion is Art on the Slab, which is an outlet for local artists to create works that have a dedicated one-month exhibition space within the Addison Rd Community Centre in Marrickville. Fiona has the unique capability to look at an item destined for landfill and transform it into art, inspiring and engaging along the way.
